Brief

Last month I had an incredibly moving experience. I received a phone call from a softly spoken lady from country Australia called Keryn who told me she had severe breast cancer, and that she wanted to have a photoshoot with her teenage daughters so they would have some special memories of her. She loved body painting and wanted it to be a part of this special shoot. Due to agressive chemo and radiotherapy, Keryn had no hair at all – no eyebrows, no eyelashes, not a single hair. Her treatment had resulted in rapid weight gain and her self esteem had suffered and she wanted to feel beautiful one more time. We arranged a date in July for her to travel down to the Skincognito studio, brought in makeup artist Michelle Butler to do her facial makeup, photographer Chris Rehberg to shoot it, and I did all the body painting on her scalp and decolletage. It was such a moving experience for all of us, and very emotional during the final “reveal”. Here are the photos.
